What to check before you buy
- Text size. On Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox, text size, zoom and captions are in the console’s Accessibility settings. Our guide to making games easier shows where to look.
- The screen. The handheld screen is smaller than a TV. If small text is a problem, play on the TV.
- The games. Look at games rated for seniors and older adults before you decide, so you know what you would play first.
- The controller. You can change what the buttons do in the settings of the PlayStation 5, the Switch 2 and the Xbox Accessories app. See how to use a controller.
